Prince Harry has commanded the attention of the world with the release of his tell-all book\u00a0Spare<\/em>.<\/strong><\/p>\n

Not only did he reveal details of his life as a working royal, but also gave fans insights into what he claims went on with some of his closest family members. He also talked at length about his upbringing \u2013 including the loss of his mother, Princess Diana \u2013 and discussed in detail his time serving in the army.<\/strong><\/p>\n

Harry also shared new details about the family he has created with Meghan Markle, offering new information on his firstborn child, Archie.<\/strong><\/p>\n

Although Harry and Meghan undoubtedly enjoy the spotlight, they have thus far ensured that their children are afforded a more sheltered time of things as they grow up. As a result, not much has been seen of Archie and his sister, Lilibet.<\/strong><\/p>\n

Yet during the Sussexes\u2019 Netflix documentary, which aired in December, Harry and Meghan opened up and shared many private moments with their children.<\/strong><\/p>\n

In\u00a0Spare<\/em>, Harry shared more information about his private life. Interestingly, that includes what he did while Meghan was in labor with Archie \u2026 apparently, he got high!<\/strong><\/p>\n

Since Harry and Meghan began dating, the couple have been something of a fixation for the British tabloid press. That in itself is hardly surprising \u2013 it seems like half the world wants to know what they\u2019re doing.<\/p>\n

Harry was \u201cobsessed\u201d with sheltering Archie from journalists<\/h2>\n

Since Meghan Markle was already an established name \u2013 thanks to her role in the television series\u00a0Suit<\/em>\u00a0\u2013 it caused quite the stir when it became apparent that she would be joining the British Royal Family.<\/p>\n

On May 6, 2019, Harry and Meghan\u2019s son Archie was born at The Portland Hospital in London. As with the birth of any royal child, it was a huge occasion \u2013 but Harry and Meghan decided to approach things a bit differently.<\/p>\n

According to royal expert Katie Nicholl, Harry was reportedly obsessed with not giving the media any details of his son\u2019s birth. In her book\u00a0The New Royals: Queen Elizabeth\u2019s Legacy and the Future of the Crown<\/em>, Nicholl described Harry as being \u201calmost morbidly obsessed\u201d with keeping Archie\u2019s birth as secret as possible.<\/p>\n

However, with millions of loyal fans and the majority of the public sought information about the little boy, the longing for secrecy was ignored as it was a beach of the \u201cunwritten contract between the royals and the public.\u201d<\/p>\n

\u201cBehind the scenes, matters were so fraught that more than one official \u2014 as I know from personal experience \u2014 was reduced to tears of frustration and despair,\u201d Rebecca English, royal editor of the Daily Mail, added.<\/p>\n

Usually, when a royal baby is born, the parents and in front of the media on the steps to the hospital with their new son or daughter. After photographs are taken, the proud mother and father usually answer a few questions before retreating to privacy once more.<\/p>\n

Harry and Meghan, however, wanted to approach their son\u2019s birth differently, according to Katie Nicholl. Instead of facing the media openly, they tricked reporters and photographers.<\/p>\n

\u201cI had been really worried going into that labor\u201d<\/h2>\n

Prince William, Harry, and William\u2019s children were all born at St Mary\u2019s Hospital, and thus that\u2019s where the traditional first baby photos were taken. However, Meghan\u2019s doctor worked at Portland Hospital. Therefore, it made sense to give birth there. Not only that, but the Sussexes were told the place would make photos impossible due to safety considerations around the entrance.<\/p>\n

\u201cHarry had always enjoyed outfoxing the media,\u201d Nicholl wrote in\u00a0The New Royals: Queen Elizabeth\u2019s Legacy and the Future of the Crown<\/em>.<\/p>\n

\u201cHe and Meghan were thrilled to be safely delivered of their son in London\u2019s private Portland hospital even before the palace press office had confirmed the duchess was in labor.\u201d<\/p>\n

In their Netflix documentary series, Meghan explained how she was anxious about what might happen the day her baby boy was born.<\/p>\n

\u201cThere was already the pressure of the picture on the steps. \u2026 But I had been really worried going into that labor because I\u2019m older, I didn\u2019t know if I\u2019d have to have a c-section, and I had a very longstanding relationship with my doctor, and that\u2019s who I trusted with my pregnancy,\u201d she said.<\/p>\n

Two days later, however, Harry and Meghan decided to participate in a brief photo session, where one reporter got to ask questions.<\/p>\n

Though everything was in order, it turned out that their time at the hospital had been quite dramatic. At least for Harry, something he\u2019s now revealed in his book,\u00a0Spare<\/em>.<\/p>\n
